Pinchgut Opera // Coronation of Poppea

At the end of 2017, Natalie will be starring in Pinchgut Opera's thrilling homage to Monteverdi on what will be the 450th anniversary of his birth. The Coronation of Poppea is a "towering masterpiece of superbly crafted characterisation, biting satire, and heartbreaking beauty", and will be performed by Pinchgut in the original format first used at the original performance, in which various characters doubled roles.

Natalie will sing both the scorned Empress Ottavia - Nero's humiliated and forgotten wife - and Drusilla, the lovesick co-conspirator of Ottone who is ordered to murder Poppea. Conducted by Pinchgut's Artistic Director Erin Helyard and directed by Mark Gaal, the production also stars acclaimed mezzo Helen Sherman and countertenor Jake Arditti.
